Angry Mob Music Group is an independent music publisher dedicated to standing up for the rights of songwriters, composers, artists, and creatives. Founded in 2009 and currently celebrating its 10th anniversary, Angry Mob focuses on music licensing, master rights management, creative development, and custom music production for a roster of over 60 songwriters, composers, and artists, including Jake Scott, Pepper, dePresno, KAMI, love-sadKID, Rune Westberg, and Schmarx & Savvy.

Angry Mob has successfully administered sync placements for a catalogue of over 4,500 works for their songwriters and artists in television, feature films, and advertisements. In addition to traditional publishing, they offer creative, diverse opportunities across movie trailers and digital experiences for brands. Prominent placements include Pretty Little LiarsShameless, the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, Bad MomsThe Gambler, advertising campaigns for Hyundai and Google, and trailers for Alita: Battle Angel, Widows, and Blade Runner 2049.

Angry Mob’s Los Angeles-based team has worked on both sides of the music industry, as music business professionals and as composers and performing artists. Marc Caruso (CEO/Co-Founder) oversees all facets of Angry Mob. For the past 20 years, as an entrepreneur, composer, producer, and Emmy-nominated music editor, he has been at the forefront of music publishing and master rights administration, especially within TV and film. Under his leadership, Angry Mob has grown into a diversified music company with successful operations in publishing, music rights management, and trailer music production. Caruso has also led the company’s direct signings, ranging from major label artists and accomplished songwriters to emerging producers and composers.

Marc Caruso

For over 25 years, as an entrepreneur, composer, producer, and Emmy-nominated music editor, Marc Caruso has been at the forefront of music publishing and master rights administration for TV and film. Marc is the CEO and Co-Founder of Los Angeles-based Angry Mob Music, an independent music publisher dedicated to standing up for the rights of songwriters, composers, artists, and creatives in the complicated and dynamic entertainment industry. In the 15 years since its inception, Marc has overseen all facets of Angry Mob’s business which under his leadership has developed into a diversified music company with successful operations in music licensing, master rights management, creative development, and custom music production. In addition to running the day-to-day operations, Marc led a number of Angry Mob’s direct signings ranging from major label artists and accomplished songwriters, to emerging producers and composers such as Bailey Bryan, Richard Walters, Verskotzi, Joe Pepe, KAMI, Rune Westberg, Schmarx & Savvy, and Jake Scott.

Prior to establishing Angry Mob, Marc was the Executive Producer at Red Arc Music Group, where he was responsible for publishing and licensing for all film, television, and media; and previously served as the president of Reel Fusion, Inc for eight years, heading all music editorial for film and television production.

Marc’s extensive experience within the music industry has molded him into a champion for musician and songwriters’ rights. He is a current board member and former President of the L.A. Chapter of the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP); a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, The Recording Academy, and The Motion Picture Editors Guild; and represents Angry Mob’s interests as a member of the Independent Publishers Advisory Council and Team 100 of the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA). In addition, Marc has spoken at industry conferences including the AIMP Global Music Publishing Summit, and Mondo.NYC; been featured in publications Billboard, Music Connection, Creative Industries News, and Music Row; and on industry podcasts Unlimited Supply, Break The Business, and The New Music Business with Ari Herstand.

As a University of Southern California alumni, Marc is on the advisory board for the USC Caruso Catholic Center where he provides business and personal mentorship to current students. Marc resides in Los Angeles with his wife, two children, and two dogs, and can frequently be seen playing keyboard in his 80s cover band, I Want My 80’s.
