Dan Simpson, Meta‘s Head of Music Operations, has been appointed as the new chair of the board at DDEX, the international body that develops standards for data exchange across the music industry. Simpson has been involved with DDEX for several years and became a board member in 2024. He has played key roles in the Digital Sales Reporting (DSR) Working Group and the Electronic Release Notification (ERN) Working Group, and more recently acted as board sponsor for the Anomaly Reporting Working Group, which addresses issues such as streaming fraud.
