Billboard’s Deals Column this week featured the news from SourceAudio signing a dataset licensing deal with ElevenLabs.
Synch and AI music dataset licensing platform SourceAudio teamed with AI audio research and deployment company ElevenLabs in a deal that will see SourceAudio serve as ElevenLabs’ preferred music licensing partner. Under the agreement, SourceAudio will offer ElevenLabs access to millions of pre-cleared songs hosted on the SourceAudio platform for “ethical AI training,” according to a press release. “This ensures a seamless flow of music to ElevenLabs through a unified delivery pipeline, mirroring the efficiencies enjoyed by DSPs that work with aggregators,” the release adds, further noting that “14 million songs on the SourceAudio platform are opted into its AI dataset licensing program. These songs are available to AI companies subject to specific thresholds and ethical AI practices, such as no direct song replication or substitution with synthetic data.”
