Inside Radio: Music Metadata Organization DDEX Is Looking At Podcasts And It Wants Industry Input.

Published

on

Inside Radio covered DDEX’s call for input for their research on the use of music in podcasts.

DDEX, the international standards-setting organization focused on the exchange of data and information across the music industry, is casting its sights on podcasting. DDEX has been asked by its members to examine how to best transmit music metadata between the various players in the podcast supply chain, including licensors of music content.
DDEX is currently in the process of defining what its members consider to be “reasonable data requirements” for the various transactions involving music in podcasts. It also is looking at ways to ensure that whatever processes and data requirements it designs also ensure that any music used in podcasts is licensed.
