Angry Mob was featured in Variety for their work on landing the string arrangement of Harry Styles’ “Sign Of The Times” on Netflix’s second season of the hit show Bridgerton.
“The moment was a big coup for boutique publishing company and record label, Angry Mob Music, whose co-founder/executive producer/senior director of creative, Sean Harrison, along with DEBRA DELSHAD, senior director of licensing and synchronization, and composer and performer Steve Horner, worked closely together to create the perfect sync for “Bridgerton.”
Angry Mob’s work on this song was also featured on Apple Music 1, several ABC outlets, All Access, Broadway world, and more.
CCS Rights Management / Daytripper


CCS Rights Management and Daytripper Music Publishing have been busy celebrating 5 Juno Nominations! Daytripper songwriter/producer, composer and recording artists Hill Kourkoutis received two Juno nominations and became the first female to be nominated for Recording Engineer of the Year in the 46-years the Junos have awarded the category.
In addition to Hill’s two nominations, CCS rights artist and global pop star Tate McRae received two nominations for Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year for Too Young To Be SAD; Colin James, a CCS rights artist, received a Juno nod for Blues Album of the Year for Open Road; and Daytripper R&B singer-songwriter Nuela Charles was named the SOCAN Foundation’s 2022 Her Music Award Grand Prize winner.

Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP)

AIMP is thrilled to announce its fifth annual AIMP Global Music Publishing Summit, taking place June 14 in a hybrid format both online and in-person at the 3 West Club in New York City. Soundstripe
Soundstripe was recently named the #1 Fastest Growing Private Media Company in the Southeast by Inc. Magazine after achieving a growth rate of 198% from 2018 to 2020. Following this recognition, the company announced they have reached the milestone of $7.5M paid to artists and 10M total song, sound effect, and stock video licenses issued since their formation. Soundstripe is also currently rolling out a new look with the goal of “Bringing Back the Joy.” Congrats to the team!

Rightsholder.io announced this month that they are collaborating with Feed Media Group, a company dedicated to providing licensed popular music for businesses to create engaging experiences for apps and physical spaces, to accelerate music data matching. This will help to provide a seamless process that will augment the information needed to complete the licensing and royalty payment cycle for songs offered throughput FMG’s music products, including its Adaptr platform.
Additionally, rightsholder.io announced in February the launch of their new WorldSearch tool for Music Publishers. This platform will help publishers quickly identify and fix issues with their catalog registrations to ensure that they are collecting 100% of the royalties.
DDEX


DDEX has officially announced their BIG Summit 2022 agenda and the initial lineup of featured speakers for the event on June 13! The Summit will be a hybrid event, taking place both online and in-person at the Gusman Concert Hall at the University of Miami. The BIG Summit takes place the day before DDEX’s 39th Plenary Meeting on June 14-16, 2022. Register or get more info here.
Niels Rump, part of the DDEX Secretariat, is taking part in a panel on podcasting and music at The Podcast Show in London on Thursday May 26th. The panel includes representatives from both the music industry and podcasting industry discussing the legal and data requirements for using music in podcasts.
NY Tech Alliance


The NY Tech Alliance recently hosted two amazing Tech Meetups on March 8, 2022 and on April 5, 2022.
At the March 8th Meetup, the NY Tech Alliance featured four amazing Black, Male Founders and their tech assisting with traffic stops, fundraising, storytelling, and live immersive app building.
The April 5th Meetup featured two fintech companies who are chaining the blockchain space and developing infrastructure for new cryptocurrency platforms.

Made in Memphis Entertainment (MIME)


MIME announced this month their overhaul of the music publishing team, promoting Tim Burnett VP of Heavy Hitters Music and MIME Publishing. In addition to his promotion, MIME announced the the hires of Amiris Perdue and Ricky (Jean) Lafond as A&R coordinators, Ashley Wearren as Sync Licensing Coordinator, and Bria Dunlap as Sync Licensing and Administration Coordinator.
MIME’s 4U Recording Atlanta studio recently hosted the second stop on the Music Managers Forum Roadshow! The MMF – US Summit is an all-day conference dedicated to bringing managers and artists together to provide tools and knowledge to help them enhance their careers. The conference kicked off with a keynote by MIME’s very own Tony D. Alexander and was followed by panels such as “Know Your Rights – Managing Your Music Licensing Portfolio,” “Money: Cashflow & Access to Finance,” “The State of Sync Presented by Sync Summit,” “Data: Marketing Leverage,” and more.

OpenPlay has announced the rollout of their new EPK (Electronic Press Kit) toolkit for OpenPlay users. The new feature allows users to effortlessly create visually rich, highly customizable, streamlined EPKs from their existing assets and metadata already stored in OpenPlay.
OpenPlay users can create an EPK with a few simple clicks and any number of assets, including album artwork, bios and album/track descriptions, an unlimited number of photos and songs, video clips, PDF files, and links to streaming services, websites, social media pages, and more. Once finished, users can generate their EPKs with a single click, giving them a visually simple and data rich EPK for immediate distribution.

Exactual’s Director of Business Development, Lindsay Conlin has been nominated for the Mater of Metadata Award at the 2022 Music Biz Bizzy Awards. The award honors “a company or executive who has made a significant impact in the area of data processing, credit clarification, streamlining or otherwise promoting clean data and best practices.” We wish her the best of luck at the Awards Banquet on May 11!

Casey joined the Jaybird team in October of 2021! She has experience working in marketing for venues in Atlanta and major festivals like Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Voodoo, and talent buying for Live Nation venues in Austin and Las Vegas. She is originally from Atlanta and recently moved to Portland, Oregon in 2021.
