Music Ally: Music veterans launch AYO Music Group to correct ‘copy-wrongs’

Music Ally featured the launch of AYO Music Group, highlighting the core of their mission to help rightsholders.

Deborah Mannis-Gardner is one of the world’s top music-clearance experts, having worked on projects from Grand Theft Auto games to De La Soul’s famously-complicated digital releases. Pär Almqvist, meanwhile, is the co-founder and CEO of sample-licensing firm Tracklib.

That’s a lot of expertise, and now the pair are combining forces for a new company called AYO Music Group. It’s described as “an active copyright administrator” aiming to help rightsholders make more of their back catalogues.  “The company helps clients ‘copyright copy-wrongs’ by correcting administration issues that can date back decades, and prioritises rightsholder education at the forefront of the company’s services,” as its announcement put it.
