Founded in 2026 by former female professional athletes turned media executives, Meghan O’Leary (Co-Founder & President) and Kira Karlstrom (Co-Founder & Chief Creative Officer), Triple Threat’s mission is to bring clarity and resources to clients and their teams by combining AI-powered brand intelligence, IP development, and management into one integrated system, building the multi-dimensional support needed by the modern talent ecosystem, creators, and brands to build long-term value.

Triple Threat’s founders, Meghan O’Leary and Kira Karlstrom, met in 2009 while working at ESPN on various initiatives across production, programming, creative services, and design. Both went their separate ways after leaving ESPN to establish their own careers and expertise. Meghan O’Leary went on to compete in the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and hold multiple roles across sporting organizations, including USRowing, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Properties, and LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games, while Kira Karlstrom held prominent roles at Marvel Entertainment, Comcast NBCUniversal, Capitol Music Group, and Twitch. In 2025, Meghan and Kira teamed up again to combine their complementary experiences in media, management, commercial development, innovation, creator tools, monetization, and more to establish Triple Threat as the premier IP development and brand intelligence agency helping athletes, artists, creators, and brands to identify and develop ownable and repeatable proprietary content properties, and build long-term value.

Meghan O’Leary

Meghan O’Leary is a two-time Olympian, founder, investor, commercial strategist, and sports business executive with more than 20 years experience developing strategies, partnerships, and long-term value for athletes, brands, and organizations. As a former Olympian and professional athlete, Meghan blends an Olympic mindset with real-world business strategy to push boundaries and use creative problem solving to drive high-impact results across any company she works with.

In 2026, Meghan Co-Founded Triple Threat with Kira Karlstrom as the premier IP development and brand intelligence agency helping athletes, artists, and creators turn their influence into lasting businesses they own, and brands identify and develop ownable, repeatable proprietary content properties. In her role as President, she combines AI-powered brand intelligence, IP development, and management into one integrated system, building the multi-dimensional support needed by the modern talent ecosystem and creators to build long-term, repeatable value. Clients she’s worked with at Triple Threat include StagePilot, USRowing, Twitch, Live Nation, CavFutures (University of Virginia), Grindr, “Made It Out” podcast host Mallorie Glowenke, U.S. Ice Hockey Gold Medalist Angela Ruggiero, and more.

Prior to Co-Founding Triple Threat, Meghan held multiple roles across sporting organizations, including leading Commercial Development & Innovation for the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Properties and LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games, where she developed innovative marketing platforms including Making Team USA, the LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games handoff, and the Torch Relay, and brokered major partnerships with brands including NBC Universal, Salesforce, Eli Lilly, Comcast, Coca-Cola, Guild Education, and Google. After retiring from her professional sports career, Meghan held multiple roles with USRowing as a Commercial Advisor and Fractional Chief Commercial Officer, evolving the brand and building their commercial engine from the ground up. Meghan started her career at ESPN in production and programming, where she helped expand coverage of and investment in women’s sports, including the expansion of the NCAA Women’s basketball tournament, women’s college softball and college volleyball.

As a professional athlete, Meghan O’Leary represented the United States and Team USA at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. During her time as a member of the U.S. Rowing National Team for seven years, O’Leary earned two World Championship Medals, four World Cup Medals, seven USRowing National Championships, and was the 2017 USRowing Fan’s Choice Athlete of the Year. Prior to rowing, she was an NCAA Division I two-sport athlete in volleyball and softball at the University of Virginia. There she was the team captain for the softball team, was an All ACC Honor Roll Student, and was a National Women in Girls and Sports (NWGS) Honoree and Women’s Sports Foundation Honoree and grant winner. She’s also an inductee of the Louisiana State Sports Hall of Fame and the Episcopal High School Athletics Hall of Fame.

Throughout her professional career, Meghan O’Leary has been the recipient of multiple awards including the LA28 Boldness Award for Leadership in Innovation and Excellence as an architect of the Making Team USA initiative for Xfinity Mobile, and was a two-time Standing “O” Award for Excellence winner at ESPN. She’s been a featured guest on multiple shows on ESPN including SportsCenter and Mike & Mike Radio, and has hosted her own TEDx talk titled “The Power of One Day.” She’s also an in-demand speaker speaking to organizations and executives on leadership, drawing on her experience across sport, entrepreneurship, and leadership to help others perform at their best in business and in life. Meghan is also a member of WISE, has served as a mentor for Stanford IGNITE, and as a longtime advocate for athlete empowerment and gender equity, spent eight years on the USRowing Board of Directors, helping shape the organization’s commercial strategy, governance, and commitment to advancing equity and the growth of the sport.

Outside of her professional work, Meghan is an owner of the League One Volleyball (LOVB), and an owner of Crux Football, in addition to investing and advising for multiple startups. She’s visited 49 of 50 states, has two brothers, including a twin, and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her wife, Julia Falk O’Leary, along with their two dogs, Lotus and Nellie.


Kira Karlstrom

Kira Karlstrom is the Co-Founder of Triple Threat, the premier IP development and brand intelligence agency helping athletes, artists, and creators turn their influence into lasting businesses they own, and brands identify and develop ownable, repeatable proprietary content properties. A former professional basketball player turned creative strategist, Kira is an Emmy Award-winning marketing executive and creative director at the intersection of sports, entertainment, music, and technology. After graduating from Drexel University in 2007, where she led the nation in rebounding for sub 5’5” point guards in her senior season, Karlstrom spent a year playing professional basketball in Europe on the Trustul CRE Cluj team in Cluj-Napoca Romania before retiring.

Karlstrom then began her career as a Producer and Art Director at ESPN, before moving on to hold prominent roles at Marvel Entertainment, Comcast NBCUniversal, and Capitol Music Group. She has worked on 360-marketing execution for major cultural pillars including The Marvel Universe, the Olympic Games, the FIFA World Cup, and ESPN’s SportsCenter, as well as talent strategy and digital marketing for a diverse roster of A-list talent including Sir Paul McCartney, Mariah Carey, Scarlett Johansson, Katy Perry, Andrew Garfield, Scott VanPelt, David Ortiz, Hilary Knight, and more.

In 2021, Karlstrom joined Twitch as Senior Label Relations Lead, quickly advancing to Head of Music Label Relations and then Head of Global Entertainment Marketing, a first-of-its-kind role bridging traditional media and live-streaming technology. She fundamentally re-engineered how the entertainment industry engages digital audiences, with live-streaming initiatives that drove 10% year-over-year growth of music in 2025 and millions in branded revenue through activations with global brands including Coca-Cola, PUMA, Discover, Starbucks, and Maybelline. She also worked with Justin Bieber, Charli XCX, and Lizzo to facilitate their entrance to the platform and build their livestreaming content strategy, and was instrumental in the strategy and execution of the Twitch DJ Program, a historic partnership between a major tech platform and the global music industry. Serving as the primary leader for the program’s launch and global campaign, she brought world-class talent to the platform including Steve Aoki, Tiesto, Zedd, Fred again.., Diplo, and Sofi Tukker, helping to define a new digital blueprint for the electronic music community.

Karlstrom has been featured on the 2026 Billboard Women in Music and Dance Power Players lists. She won three Webby Awards in 2026 for her work with Justin Bieber in the Best Livestream, Creator Launch or Drop, and Events & Live Streams categories, as well as Silver and Bronze Clio Awards in 2024 for her work with Charli XCX. She has spoken at events including Cannes Lions 2026 and Harbour View Private Equity General Meeting & Create Summit 2024 and been a featured guest on the CAA (Colonial Athletic Association) Insiders podcast. She was also featured in the SXSW digital docuseries “The Music Blueprint.” Karlstrom is a member of The Recording Academy.

Karlstrom is a cancer survivor and an active supporter of The V Foundation for Cancer Research, Coaches vs. Cancer, and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. She is passionate about travel, the arts, and reading. Karlstrom is based in Los Angeles.
